Victoria Laughter Day: This Sunday, September 15, 2013


Once again, we will consume ourselves in joy, laughter and healthy exercise…otherwise known as Laughter Yoga.


11am Sunday at Saxe Point Park. Weather should be Ok.


You know what? Every time we have come together to laugh, we always had a fine and uproarious time. Why should this time be any different?


Bring a friend or three and bust-a-gut, as Guillaume would say. (Guillaume was the first Laughter Yoga Leader who kick started the movement here in Victoria)

Wizzdom: Yours for the Playing J


The Wizzdom Game, devised by a “bloke” in Australia sounds great fun.


Laughter Yoga Teacher Gene Furbee played it at the recent All America Laughter Yoga Conference and loved it so much, he is brining it to Victoria for a one time even only.

Sunday September 22, 2-5 pm at The Church of Truth in James Bay.

Let me briefly say that the four day 8th Annual All Americal Laughter Yoga Conference in White Rock BC last week was a special event hosted by Sebastian Gendry a marvellous trainer for Dr. Kataria. He also has his own Website which is which has numerous resources for teachers and leaders of Laughter Yoga and for supporting everyone’s daily laughter yoga practice. Matti and I attended from Victoria and there were attendees from Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan and throughout the United States and across Canada. Matti was one of the presenters, centering his presentation around his recent book “The Zen of Joy”, which was enthusiastically received.


Two of the highlights for me was a one day workshop lead by Sebastian Gendry on Transformational Play which emphasized the play element of Laughter Yoga. I also took the workshop In the Wizzdom Game the afternoon of the last day of the conference.  The Wizzdom Game was created by a self-described bloke from Australia around 20 years ago, and has only recently been introduced to North America in the last year or so. Because of the play element of the Wizzdon Game there is some thought that it would be a very good fit for the Laughter Yoga community. Dr. Kataria will be introduced  to the game at the Laughter Yoga Conference in Orlando Florida later in the year. Perhaps he will fall in love with it as I did and decide to affiliate with the creator of the Game and make it a part of the Laughter Yoga Community.


So I would like to offer the opportunity for those of us here in Victoria to be introduced to the game before Dr. Kataria has even seen it. Lynda Tourloukis who has been introducing the game here in North America has agreed come to Victoria for a special event. That event is a fund raiser for my son’s film “Huntington’s Dance”. I have written about this film project previously so some of you may be familiar with it. Recently he raised $10,300 online toward his goal of $20,000. All of the money for playing the Wizzdom game will go toward his film project which you can read about at


The Wizzdom game can be played by people of all ages. It is simple, fun, revealing, develops trust in ones self and others, builds community,  and can be played over and over. It has been used in schools, with indigenous communities, the corporate world, for personal growth and development and as a training tool for people seeking to identify their strengths and abilities.

Our facilitator will be Lynda Tourloukis  all the way from Chicago to introduce us to the game she has been facilitating around the world as part of her motivational and leadership development trainings.
