This Sunday, April 2nd, Laughter Yoga once again restarts in Beacon Hill Park.
Laughter Yoga Leader Miho leads at 10.30 am for one hour. Amidst the peacocks and buds.
Every year from April to September, laughers join together in laughter, some gentle movement, singing at times and lotsa childlike joy.

Notice the Absence of Pain
This is one of the greatest sources of joy in life.
Most of the time, I am not feeling pain.
Noticing the absence of pain is not natural though.
We have to train for this.
“We are hardwired to notice the arising of a phenomenon
—such as sight or sound for example—
we sense if, perceive it, cognize it, and then thoughts arise out of it.
In other words, the mind is stimulated to participate in that phenomenon.”

We are not hardwired to notice the lack of a stimulus.
We have to bring awareness to it.
This awareness can be trained to be a mental habit.
This is how: Notice if you have any pain.
Then notice where you are not in pain.
Remind yourself of that.
If any joy arises from that thought, attend to that joy!
Example, if you have a backache, ask if you have a toothache.
If not, say “I don’t have a toothache right now.”
You can notice lack of emotional pain too.
“I am not suffering the pain of hatred right now.”
Attend to any joy that arises.
The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
The more it becomes a habit.
