New Laughter Technology to be Unveiled at World Laughter Day. Victoria Laughter News May 2, 2017

We have heard that “Laughter is the best Medicine.”


Local Laughter Leaders have been putting this to the test.


They have found less stress and more happiness in their lives by laughing regularly.


Laughter Yoga is the brainchild of Dr. Madan Kataria who was preparing a paper on the benefits of laughter. He realized it might be good to actually do it. So with 4 others, they started the first Laughter Club in 1996. It was based in his home city of Mumbai, India.


From there it has spread to over 17,000 clubs and 100 countries around the world.


Now, Certified Laughter Yoga Leaders in Victoria are taking it to another level by introducing new laughter technology.


It is basically a laughter “exercise” that can turn negative events in our lives into positive.


Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher Matti Anttila along with Leaders Eric Bourgault and Miho Lindley have beta tested this technology with promising results.


This news technology holds the promise of turning negative events in a person’s life into positives.


The initial testing shows that stressful events in the participants’ lives were released quickly without any side effects.


Specifically, they found the anxiety that resulted from stressful events was eased. In fact, the participants were able to smile and laugh at the events.


Anttila says: “When something dramatic happens, we sometimes say, one day we will look back at this and laugh. We have found a way for that ‘one day’ to be sooner. Why wait years to laugh at it? This technology holds promise for us to lead happier lives by releasing the grip of negative events and doing it sooner rather than later.”


They will unveil their results at World Laughter Day which is held every year on the first Sunday in May.


The event takes place in Beacon Hill Park by the sun dial at 10.30 am this Sunday May 7th.


The public are invited to participate in this mass Beta Test of the new Laughter Technology.
